Professor George Du Toit is an internationally recognised Consultant Paediatrician specialising in allergies in children. With over 20 years of experience, he is a leading authority in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of allergic conditions including food allergies, asthma, eczema, hay fever, and reflux. He provides private care at The Portland Hospital for Women and Children and St Thomas’ Hospital in London. He completed his primary medical degree at the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa, followed by comprehensive paediatric and specialist allergy training. In 2003, he was appointed as a Consultant and has since combined clinical excellence with a strong commitment to academic research and medical education. He is the senior co-investigator on several NIH-funded clinical trials, including the landmark LEAP (Learning Early About Peanut Allergy) studies, which revolutionised the prevention of peanut allergies. He has also led major studies such as EAT-ON (focusing on allergy prevention through early feeding in breastfed infants) and BAT-2 (focused on treating sesame, milk, egg, and cashew allergies). A former Chair of the Paediatric Section of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, Professor Du Toit is a respected contributor to both national and international guidelines on allergy prevention and management. He is also an active member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (AAAAI).
